Christmas is the time when it’s all about family and the closest of friends. Kristin wanted her wedding day to be just that. A relaxed intimate gathering of super close friends and family which is exactly what she had last year at Christmas and it was in Dingle – which in my opinion is one of the best places ever to be at Christmas time! And it was in a pub {two actually} so that’s even better.
Guests arrived a few days before the wedding to Greenmount Guesthouse in Dingle on the day after Christmas {which in Dingle is called Wren’s day} all receiving welcome bags of hot chocolate sachets, buttery shortbread biscuits and colorful hand knit warm woolie socks. It was a great start and then off into town to celebrate and explore the strange Wren’s day phenomenon.
Kristin is lucky enough to have a super talented professional photographer, Katie Purnell, as one of her best friends so between them, they really had a vision in mind for the day. We shared images on Pinterest, commenting on each other’s images and had quite a few skype calls and detailed emails. Starting off with the save the dates and invitations with the most adorable and fitting wedding monogram of a sheep. Honestly, no detail was missed by them. I pitched in a little and Kristin was thrilled when we finally met in person a few days before her wedding and she saw gold paint and glitter on my hands which proved I was doing my bit too!
On the wedding day, the weather was as expected for December in Ireland but the mood was full of happiness and light.
It was a church wedding for Kristin and Joe so off to St. Mary’s Church in Dingle for the ceremony
Then Kristin and Joe met all of their guests in Dick Mack’s pub where they were all very much in the throws of celebrating the couple with sparkling wine, artisan breads, local cheeses, antipasti and pints of Guinness of course!
After their relaxed cocktail hour in Dick Mack’s Pub they all walked down to the waterfront for dinner in John Benny’s pub {you know where their priorities are!}
After a very personal fist dance with music played by a friend, the party moved downstairs to the bar for some traditional Irish music, drinks and craic.
Even looking at the images now you can just feel the love! I want to do it all again. And that’s just me! Imagine what Kristin and Joe feel like and their guests. What a great day and wonderful way to celebrate your wedding.
